Obituary of Duane Lee Koch

Duane Lee Koch of West Melbourne, FL passed away on February 26, 2024 at the age of 86. Duane was born in West Allis, WI to Darwin and Mildred Koch as the oldest of 13 children. Duane was a graduate of West Allis Central High School, Class of 1956. After high school, Duane traveled to Ethiopia to perform missionary work, which shaped his life and love of travel. In 1959, he married his beloved wife, Phyllis Ann Scholtz. They moved to Atlanta, GA where Duane worked at Delta Air Lines until retiring in 2002. During his time with Delta, Duane traveled the world, including to Germany and Norway. After retiring, Duane and Phyllis moved to West Melbourne, FL where he enjoyed time with family and friends, swimming laps in his pool, watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR, cooking delicious recipes, and reading. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, and brother Dean Koch. He is survived by his son Todd Koch and wife Lauri; his son Paul Koch and wife Robin; granddaughter Brittany Koch; his nine sisters, two brothers, and their spouses; and countless nieces and nephews. The family plans to hold a celebration of life later this year.
