Obituary of Theresa Phyliss "Teri" Daukshus
Theresa Phyliss Daukshus of Melbourne Beach, FL, passed away at home, on January 19, 2024.
If you knew Theresa (Teri), she lived life to its fullest, found joy in every moment, and “Just Kept On” like the Energizer Bunny, even when she battled breast cancer, very early in life.
Teri grew up in Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, and was one of four children who pre-deceased her. Surviving her are two sons, Joseph and Frank DeSantis, her three stepchildren, Denise Dearborn, Debbie Keane, and Greg Daukshus; children of Francis Gilbert Daukshus who pre-deceased her in 2008, and many grandchildren.
Teri was fortunate to have experienced the following years in the company of Joseph Gioffre, also a resident of Melbourne Beach and active member of Immaculate Conception Church. Teri and Joe were blessed to have one another, experience traveling locally and abroad, attend local events but more importantly, never slowing down or ceasing to learn. She was a devoted, faithful, and tenacious mother/stepmother/spouse/partner and grandmother.
Most of Teri’s earlier career was spent in New York City as an Executive Assistant for Sterling Capital Corporation. After her youngest son graduated college in 1992, Teri moved to Melbourne Beach to establish new roots and be an active contributor to the community. She dedicated her time to Immaculate Conception Church, The Women’s Guild, Melbourne Beach Public Library, and the Italian American Club. Eventually, Teri obtained her Real Estate License and most recently worked for Melbourne Beach Properties. She will be dearly missed by family and numerous friends.
The family welcomes everyone for a Mass of Remembrance at Immaculate Conception Church, 3780 S Hwy A1A, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951 on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
