I have many great memories of growing up with “Uncle” Jay! While, technically, Uncle, we were more like siblings with having only a four year age difference. He’d drive me to school in his brown Nova. He helped me with many school projects. Boating and fishing, just a couple of Keys Kids. I admire the man he became. Even in his weakest moments of fighting cancer, he’d call to check on me. He always thought of his family. We lost a good one. Godspeed, Uncle Jay.

I love this man. When I became the Training Chief at Melbourne, he and his crew were the biggest help with making repairs to the training center, field testing equipment, and developing the training programs. Away from work we would play golf and he helped me fix some things at my house too. When my wife was diagnosed with cancer, Jay and I would sit and talk while they were at the infusion center getting chemo treatments. Truely, a great man.

I’m devastated that Lt. Geld is no longer here. This one stings that he’s gone. He was an awesome instructor and leader. I’ll never forget how he taught at FMTI and at EFSC. I’ve learned a lot from him. Rest easy brother. Thank you for all of your years of dedication and protection of this county for so long.
