Obituary of Esther Dee Gosnell
Esther "Dee" Dolores Gosnell, 86, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2024.
Dee was born on March 1, 1937 in Marianna, Florida and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. She married James "Gus" Gosnell on August 2, 1968 and settled in Merritt Island, Florida in 1972. She lived in the same house until her passing.
She loved people and spent the majority of her life as a waitress serving them and touching the lives of everyone she met. She let the light of Jesus shine so bright, one couldn't help but see it.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, James "Gus" Gosnell and her sister, Linda Jo Adams Turner. Her family was everything to her. She was a loving and dedicated wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her daughters-Tonya Williams (Greg) and Beth Dillard (Don); five grandchildren-James Williams (Christiana), Alex Dillard (Rae), Traci Lopes (Tyler), Cody Dillard, and Brody Dillard; two great granddaughters-Lexi Velez and Eliana Williams; three sisters-Dorothy Wood (David), Shirley Lewandowski, and Lynette Mackey (Richard); one brother-Glenn Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life on January 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Brevard Christian Church, 1750 N. Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, Florida.
Dee's favorite color was red so we are encouraging everyone to wear something red in her honor and ladies - don't forget your lipstick. She always said lipstick is the icing on the cake!
