Obituary of Sean Michael Dickens
Sean Michael Dickens, 57, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 in West Melbourne, Florida. He was the husband of Cynthia, sharing 37 years of marriage together and raising 2 of their own children, as well as one adopted child.
Sean was born at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois to Michael and Sandra Dickens, both preceding him in death, along with his brother, Michael II. He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1983. He then joined the USAF, where he served for nearly 15 years, initially working in the emergency department of the hospital and later moving on to IT computer engineering. Upon leaving the USAF, he moved his family to West Melbourne, FL where he spent the remainder of his life.
Sean was a strong believer and is surely walking alongside Christ in Heaven. He attended Grace Church in Melbourne, FL, along with his family. His love for his family was beyond measure and not a moment was wasted. He made sure all of his “kids” and family knew how deeply and unconditionally he loved them. This includes his kids’ friends, and especially his grandchildren - Kylee (12y), James (2y), and Lainey (2.5m). He was “Paw-Paw” to all the kids, whether blood relative or not.
Sean also loved his Auburn football, St. Louis Blues hockey (especially when they played against Tampa Bay Lightning), fishing, & the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife - Cyndi, his children - Gayle, Erica (Tim), and Travis, and grandchildren - Kylee (12y), James (2y), and Lainey (2.5m), as well as his sister Dawn (Patrick) and their two children, Rachel (Josh) and Christopher.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date near the water in Melbourne, FL.
