Obituary of William "Connor" Smoot

William Connor Smoot, affectionately known as Connor or Smoot, chose to end his journey on this earth on December 27, 2023 at the age of 30.

He leaves behind a legacy cherished by his mother Laura Lacher, siblings Cedar, Emily, and Alex, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends, all of whom hold dear memories of him. Connor is predeceased by his beloved father William A. Smoot. Connor was a person deeply admired and loved by many.

Connor will forever be remembered for his kind hearted nature, big heart and his contagious smile. He had a remarkable knack for lightening the mood, offering a helping hand to those in need, a sympathetic ear, and infusing joy into the lives of others with his humor. He loved sports, he loved his sweet Border Collie puppy, Snoopy, and he loved meandering philosophical conversations on the phone. He was a beacon of warmth, always ready with a friendly smile and a kind word for everyone he encountered. His impact on the lives of others around him was immeasurable.

His loved ones choose to honor Connor in his entirety, recognizing both his incredible qualities and his struggles with mental health and addiction. His untimely departure has left a profound void in all our hearts, a testament to the depth of our collective sorrow. In commemorating Connor’s life we hold on to the hope that open conversations about mental health may bring solace to those who feel alone in their struggles. Remember: you are not alone.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a mental health or addiction support organization in Connor’s memory. A memorial service to honor Connor’s life will take place on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Ammen Family Cremation & funeral care in Melbourne FL.
