Obituary of Sara Marie "Rye" McPherson

Sara Marie McPherson (Rye), a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023.

Sara was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on June 6, 1942, to Henry and Marie Rye. She was the oldest of six children and had two brothers, Dickie and Larry, and three sisters, Ruth, Joyce, and Teresa.

Sara grew up in Clarksville and worked for Acme Boot Factory, where she earned the nickname “Boots”, to which she was lovingly referred by her siblings.

Throughout the years, Sara worked as a housekeeper in several hotels and nursing homes. Her favorite part of working at the nursing home was being able to interact with the patients!

To say that Sara loved her family was an understatement! She loved to keep up to date on what everyone was doing. She had a great sense of humor, and she could make you laugh no matter how you felt! She loved BINGO Fridays, and she looked forward to spending Friday evenings playing Bingo with her best friend Tracie, and seeing her friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Robert; her son, Christopher, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer; her grandchildren Austin, Ethan, Courtney, and Ashleigh; her sisters Ruth and Joyce; her brother Dickie and Larry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marie Rye, and her sister, Teresa. She was an amazing woman who was loved by many, and she is already missed so much!
