Obituary of Billy Grant Cagle

Having lived a blessed and meaningful life, BILLY GRANT CAGLE, 81 of Palm Bay, FL went to his heavenly home October 2, 2023.  Bill "Bud" grew up in Palestine, NC and spent his lfe in Stanley County until moving to Charlotte in 1967 to work for the  Charlotte Fire Department.  He later transitioned to the Charlotte Police Department and retired in 1997 after 30 years of service and relocated to Florida, but his heart was never far away fromhome in North Caroina. Throughout his life he exemplified the meaning of a hard working father and devoted family man and instilled that in his children.  Bill spent his retirement years on a lawnmower taking care of his property.  Most of all he enjoyed simple pleasures of life being with family and friends and could strike up a conversation with anyone sharing stories of past days. He found happiness spoiling his dog, Hurley with cookies and loved nothing more than feeding a variety of wild animals that lived in the woods nearby which always brought a smile to his face as he watched them eating from his front porch.  

He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Lynn of 41 years, daughter, Annette McKessor, husband Robert and son, Garrett Cagle, grandchildren, Nicholas Morton, Alex Morton, Bobby McKessor, great grandchildren, Lilly, Mason and Bradley.  Proceeding him in death is son, William Grant Cagle in addition to parents and eleven siblings.  

A viewing will be held from 4:00pm to 5:00pm followed by a  Celebration of Life service at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at The Ammen Cremation and Funeral Home 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay. Burial will be private.
