Obituary of Christine Daly

Christine “Chris” Daly passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2023. She was 64 years old. She is survived by her four children: Teresa Wolfe and her husband, Benjamin; Ana Callahan and her husband, Shawn; James Balboni; and Edward Balboni Jr. She was an amazing Nana to her four grandchildren: Ari, Clark, Gwendolyn “Gwen”, and Theodore “Teddy.” Chris will also be missed by her longtime boyfriend, Terry; her mother, Evelyn Jodoin; and her surviving siblings: Kevin Daly and his wife, Barbara; Sean Daly and his wife, Monica; and Evelyn Kessel and her husband, George; along with numerous, well-loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Daly Sr.; her step-father, Alfred Jodoin; and her three loving brothers: Clifford Daly Jr., Steven Daly, and Patrick Daly.

Born in Stoughton, MA, on June 11, 1959, Chris’s love for nature and animals started at a young age as she was raised on a farm and even trained her own horses. She was a part of her local 4-H horse club as a teenager before eventually getting into the textile industry at Barrow Fabrics in her twenties. After the birth of her children, Chris and her family moved down to Palm Bay, FL, to be closer to family. It was there that she discovered her love of nursing. She worked for Holmes Regional Medical Center as a medical secretary while she attended Kieser University in their nursing program. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2006 and continued to work for HRMC instead as a registered nurse in the Labor and Delivery Unit. She eventually ended up working in the Mother/Baby Unit, caring for new mothers and their babies. Chris loved helping teaching mothers care for their babies, and can be remembered by her coworkers as being “wicked smart” and always striving to learn more. She eventually settled in Sebring, FL with her son, James. She continued her work as a registered nurse, working at a local nursing home there and always treated her patients as if they were her own family.

Chris shared her love of nature, cooking, and fishing with all of her loved ones - often fishing with them on the canal in her backyard that connected to Little Lake Jackson. She could often be found on her bench by the canal, just waiting for the bass to bite and watching the ducks play on the water. She loved to introduce her grandchildren to her favorite movies and books, creating fellow fans in them. Chris will be loved and missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Her family asks that if you would like to honor her, that you donate to a non-profit garden or state park, such as Bok Tower Gardens, Bahia Honda State Park, or Highlands Hammock State Park.
