Eleanor Foy

Obituary of Eleanor Teresa Klos Foy

Heaven’s gain was our loss on March 8, 2022 when Eleanor Teresa Klos Foy leapt with joy into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And while we will greatly miss her generous love, her wonderful laugh, her incredible sense of humor, her wisdom and her tenderness, we know that she is rejoicing with those who went before her and was first in line for the ice cream the minute she arrived.

Born on February 20, 1930 in Edgemere, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Martin Michael Klos and Felicia Jankowski Klos. She was predeceased by her brothers, John Klos, Alexander Klos, Joseph Klos and Martin Klos and her sisters, Josephine Besa and Martha Hannah.

She married the man of her dreams on January 22, 1949 and had just celebrated 73 years of wedded bliss. Together they raised 12 beautiful children and joyfully received 62 grandchildren and 63 great/great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Susan Winkler (husband Greg). She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Fred R. Foy, Jr. and children, Fred R. Foy, III and wife Barbara, Patricia A. Foy, James K. Foy and wife Sherri, Diane M. Regester, Steven M. Foy and wife Julie, William P. Foy and wife MaryEllen, Mary L. Foy, Janet M. Dorzey and husband Richard, Daniel E. Foy and wife Betty, Lisa E. Foy and Laura J. Sites. Besides the bountiful number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she is also survived by a glorious number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was known as Mom and Nan and Aunt Eleanor to most of the little people who surrounded her and as E.T. (Eleanor Teresa) to those friends and relatives who knew her love for the movie that bore her initials. She was a tremendous wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother and great-grandmother who was never fazed by having another mouth to feed or another diaper to change. She was rooted and grounded in great faith and met all of life’s challenges with a smile and a quick wit. She added so much joy and laugher to life, you just couldn’t wait to spend time with her again. She was an inspiration, an encouragement and a faithful witness of God’s great grace, mercy and love.

The family will receive visitors at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc. 7922 Wise Avenue on Monday March 21, 2022 from 2-4 pm and from 6-8 pm. A funeral mass will take place at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Edgemere at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 22, 2022. Her final resting place will be Oaklawn Cemetery.
