Alice was a special, lovely lady. She lived life to the fullest and was never apologetic for doing so. She was best known for her feistiness, never afraid to speak her mind (no filters used) and how much she loved her family. She never met anyone who didn’t become her friend.
40 years ago when I met Art, she welcomed me into her family with wide open, loving arms. She never liked the suffix In-Law attached to the word daughter so she would drop it when referring to me or crossed it out on cards she sent.
I am so grateful, Alice, that you raised a wonderful son who became a caring, loving husband, friend and awesome father.
Alice taught me many lessons over the years such as cooking techniques and her family recipes, parenting tips and most of all perseverance.
I will miss you sweet lady and treasure my memories of your life lessons and humorous statements or cliches.
I promise to teach our grandchildren, your great grandchildren, all about you and the wonderful long legacy you left.
One of Alice’s nurses at Autumn House described Alice perfectly when she was by Alice’s bedside saying goodbye “When Alice loves someone, she loves them hard”!
