Obituary of Ronald Owen Johnson
Ronald Owen Johnson, 83, passed away September 6th 2023 at his home in Malabar, Fl. Born February 8th, 1940 to Charles and Mary Johnson of Flint, Michigan. He joined the Navy at 19 and served on the USS Boston a missile cruiser. He was trained as a missile technician, served 2 tours, and was stationed in the Mediterranean Sea. He married his wife Sharon Kay Sanders in 1963. They met while both attended the University of Missouri. By the end of the year they welcomed a daughter Pamela Jean (Jeanie) Johnson and lived in South Bend, Indiana. Two years later a son Richard Alan Johnson was born while in Massachusetts. After 8 years in the Navy Ronald retired honorably in 1966.
Ron was employed as an electrical engineer for several companies and ended up moving to Palm Bay, Fl and then bought a house in West Melbourne, Fl. He got his Bachelor of Sciences from Nova University. He also worked for NEC originally as an applications engineer and then moving to sales. He finished his career as a printer and supplies salesman and retired in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, boating, sports, JayCees, and the Orchid Club. He and his wife traveled extensively visiting Hawaii, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He was married to his wife for 60 years. He is survived by his wife Sharon K. Johnson, his daughter Pamela J. Johnson and her husband Steve Dileonardo of Sebastian, Fl., his son Richard A. Johnson and his wife Kathy Johnson of Lavon, TX, his grandson Kevin Johnson & partner Heather Greenwood of Christmas, Fl, his great grandson Bentley Johnson, and his great granddaughter Skylar Johnson of Christmas, Fl.
A Memorial Service, including honors from United States Navy, will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, 11:00am at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay 32907.
