Obituary of Fran Mayer-Grest

After a fierce battle with cancer, Fran Mayer-Grest passed away August 25, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Fran is survived by her life partner, Catherine Grest, children: Randy Mayer, Penny Mayer, Daniel Grest, & Devyn Grest; grandchildren Alley Mayer and Dylan Mayer; brothers Mark (Anita) Power and Steven (Paula) Power. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Ginger Power.

Fran grew up in Southern California before relocating to Evergreen, Colorado to raise a family. In 1992 she met Catherine in Denver before moving to Florida to expand her family. Several years later, both of her grown children moved to Florida to be closer to their mom.

She spent her life caring for everyone around her both personally and professionally. She was always the first to volunteer as the Room Mom, Chauffeur, Girl Scout Leader, and was an avid seamstress who used her skills and creativity to help those around her. She supported her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors.

She held jobs as a dental assistant, customer service representative, and Certified Medical Assistant; though the best job she ever had was MOM.

Fran made many lifelong friends at local theatres, soccer sidelines, and everywhere she went. Her smile lit up every room she entered and she will be missed by all who knew her.

She was a loving partner, mother, and friend.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Service 1001 South Hickory Street Melbourne, Florida, with reception as follows.
