Maria (née Furnari) Scott

Follower of Christ and loving mother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend was born in Albany, NY on May 12, 1965, and died on August 15, 2023, in Melbourne, FL. She is survived by her sons, Daniel & David Scott; her husband, Leopold Scott; her mother, Heidemarie Galtieri; siblings, Manuela Moffitt, Joseph (& Tina) Furnari, Frank (& Thomas Wales) Furnari, Babette (& Edward LaPlante) Downs; stepmother, Maria Furnari; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Furnari, Sr.; brother, Robertino Furnari; brother-in-law, Robert L. Moffitt; both maternal grandparents, August & Maria Ruethlein; and paternal grandparents, Nicolas & Giacobella Furnari.

Maria was extremely generous and had a heart of gold. She would help anyone, anytime. She was an avid reader and loved listening to Z88.3 Orlando’s Christian Radio station.

Maria graduated from Melbourne High School. She graduated from Brevard Community College now Eastern Florida State College with an AA degree. She worked in healthcare most of her life. She started as a C.N.A. and then as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). She loved being a nurse and cared deeply for the patients she served. She worked in many nursing homes in the area.

Maria loved her family more than life itself. She had battled many illnesses in the last 10 years. We know her soul is now in heaven. Rest in Peace, our beloved Maria, until we meet again.
