Obituary of Charlaine Lee Ankersen

 

Charlaine Lee Ankersen was born November 2, 1941 in Brainerd, MN.

 

Charlaine grew up in MN with her mother Geraldine, and her father, Joseph. She had two brothers, Dennis and Roger, and two sisters, Beverly and Roberta.

 

Charlaine met the love of her life, Fred Ankersen, while working at the local grocery store. They married on June 22, 1968  and had two beautiful children, Chad and Christine. She was a proud Memaw to six grandchildren and one great grandson. She is survived by Dennis Tang (brother) and Roberta Strand (sister), Fred Ankersen (husband) and Christine and Chad (children), 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

 

An avid collector and miniaturist,, Charlaine enjoyed building miniature room boxes, scrapbooking, plus many different kinds of arts and crafts. Weekends she would be found on family outings, picnics, and camping.

 

Christmas was the most magical time of the year for Charlaine. She celebrated the season by hosting festive, fun holiday gatherings for family and friends, while creating loving traditions that her family will cherish for a lifetime. A huge Disney fan, Charlaine and her family visited the Magic Kingdom and Epcot many, many times throughout the years. It was always her happy place.

 

Charlaine passed in the early morning of July 21, 2023, following a prolonged battle with many conditions, surrounded by her loving family and devoted husband, in the care of the compassionate staff of the Hospice of Health First at Cape Canaveral Hospital.

 

A memorial service will be held for Charlaine on November 20, 2023 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. 5525 US 1 Mims, Fl. The date for the celebration of her life will be announced soon.
