Obituary of Wesley Allen Radcliffe
Former Michigan resident Wesley Allen Radcliffe, 79, passed away July 18, 2023, at his home in Palm Bay, Florida. He was a quiet man who cared deeply for his family. Wes was born December 7, 1943, in Caro, Michigan, to Eleanor and Cecil Radcliffe. As a youth, Wes saved the life of his friend Bobby Romain when Bobby, who couldn’t swim, stepped in a hole and got in over his head in a pond. Wes grabbed him by the hair and pulled him out.
In elementary school, Wes attended a one-room schoolhouse. He graduated from Caro High School and later earned an associate degree in business from the Detroit College of Business. Wes worked as a foreman (supervising the line) at General Motors for 30 years and ten months, starting in 1963, when he was 20 years old, and retiring in 1994, at the age of 50. During that time, Wes served his country as an Army medic in Vietnam. Wes was always an avid hunter and fisherman, and he spent a lot of time fishing after he retired, along with watching CNBC and Fox Business every day. He was extremely financially savvy.
Wes is survived by his wife Barb Radcliffe, whom he was married to for 25 years; his brother Rod Radcliffe; his son Daniel Radcliffe; daughter Heather Radcliffe-Cedro, Heather’s husband Manuel Cedro Jr, and their children Gail Marie, Morgann, and Ryan Cedro; son Jason Radcliffe, Jason’s wife Sharon Radcliffe and their children Ricky and Illiana Radcliffe; son-in-law Jerry Connor; great-grandson Elijah Connor; stepdaughter Jennifer Reinecke, her husband Kevin Reinecke, and their children Emma, Elena and Daniel Reinecke.
Wes was preceded in death by his daughter Rochelle Connor and granddaughter Erin Connor.
No memorial service will be held. Wes will be interred at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, a military cemetery in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Donations may be sent to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
