Obituary of Luis Eduardo Valdez Jr.

Luis Eduardo Valdez, Jr., 30, passed away on Sunday, July 9th, 2023, in Palm Bay.  Born November 30th, 1992, in Boston, MA to Joselyn Bechta and Luis E. Valdez Sr.  He was the beloved stepson of Jeffrey Bechta.  Cherished husband of Pricilla, Father of Elayis, Leilani, and Iaam, Brother of Ashley, Perla, Uncle of Ismael. 

Luis was known as “Lui the Barber”, to many, “Lulu”, to those very close to him, and “Luisito”, to his mother, father, and sister.  Luis had grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that will miss him dearly.

Luis was passionate about many things: music; he loved to use his creative talents to create and sing his music, being a father; Luis truly loved his children and also being a father-like figure to the young members of his family, family life; Family was very important to Luis and even though he worked a lot, he tried to be part of family functions as much as he could. 

Lastly, Luis wanted to be a provider for his family.  He was not only a barber, he also was a licensed security officer, and dabbled in creative investment opportunities.  Luis always had his long-term goals in mind.  Luis was able to follow through on his life-long dream to join the Army.  Even though he was not able to actually attend boot camp, he was officially sworn in and made his first trip to Tampa. 

Luis will always be known for his large smile, his loud laugh, and his ability to find ways to provoke everyone to make you think.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023. The viewing will be from 9:30 am – 9:45 am at Community Gospel Truth Church, 795 S. Wickham Road, West Melbourne, FL, immediately followed by a funeral service officiated by Bishop Dr. Jerry Lawrence at 10:00 am.  We will then proceed to Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FL. for the burial.
