Obituary of Gary Dean Franklin

Gary Dean Franklin, 66, of Melbourne, Florida passed away June 29, 2023, in Melbourne, Florida. He was born on December 8, 1956, in Liberty, Indiana.

Gary loved his family and really enjoyed spending time with his wife, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Gary was such a loving, caring, and compassionate man to all. He was such an amazing husband and an excellent father. Gary had many passions. He loved music and singing southern gospel music. He was the best artist and loved to write calligraphy, to draw, paint and color. His favorite sport was baseball, and he loved his Cincinatti Reds and Boston Redsox. He really enjoyed going to games with some family.

Gary had a strong faith in God and shared the love of Jesus in his life to anyone and everyone who would listen.

Gary is survived by his wife Sandra Zavota; Children, April McGahee (Michael) and Latina Nousain (Aaron); stepdaughters, Tracy Merlino (Paul) and Wanda LoBasso; grandchildren, Bryan Cauthen, Celina Diaz, Destiny Torres, Ethan McGahee, Nicole Lund, Mia Merlino, and Vincent Merlino; and six great grandchildren with another on the way. He is also survived by his parents Lewis & Bessie Franklin and a brother Kenneth Franklin and a sister Lynda Franklin.

A funeral service will be held at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care 1001 Hickory Street Melbourne, Florida viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. followed by a service.
