Obituary of Dr. Bert Chodorov
Dr. Bert Chodorov, 1935-2023, a longtime resident of Merritt Island, is survived by his wife of 25 years, 4 adult children, 1 grandson, 1 niece, 1 nephew and their families.
Dr. Chodorov practiced general dentistry in Rockledge for 30 years, then opened the Center for Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry in Suntree until his retirement in 2012. This graduate of New York University College of Dentistry was given membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society and awarded the Founders Day and Weiss Awards for Scholarship. He completed his internship in oral surgery at Metropolitan Hospital and residency in periodontics at the VA Hospital in Manhattan. US Army Captain Chodorov served as a Periodontist 1962-1964. He was also a graduate of the Comprehensive Dentistry Program of the University of Florida School of Dentistry where he taught clinical dentistry. Having achieved Fellowship, Mastership and Diplomate status, Dr. Chodorov served 6 years as a Director of the American Board of General Dentistry. As an Accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, he served as a Director and then on the Board of Governors, responsible for Accreditation examinations. Dr. Chodorov was one of the first dentists on staff at Wuesthoff Hospital. In addition, he was President of the Brevard County Dental Society, program chair of the Central District Dental Society and President of the Florida Academy of Dental Anesthesia.
A private service was held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
