Obituary of M. Joan Winkles

M. Joann Winkles, 84, of College Park, GA passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023, after a long struggle with illness and disability.

Her story began as a little girl who was a sister to four and daughter to Henry Clay and Mary D. Agnew. She grew into a beautiful, loving person who became a wife and mother of three daughters, Judy Collins (Chuck), Beth Brower (Grover), and Tina Duncan.

She is survived and will be remembered by her sister Ruby Becker, all of her daughters, her grandchildren; Joshua Brower (Sarah), Mars Collins, Tiffany Craft (Matt), Kelsey Duncan, Courtney Duncan, and her five precious great-grandchildren.

She lived in and set up over 16 homes during her 23 years as a military wife making each new house feel like home. She started late to the workforce but worked and retired from Bell South Atlanta. She loved and collected many angels. It was also one of her favorite pet names for anyone who was around her. She was loved by her family for her many skills as a wonderful baker, seamstress, and caregiver. She lived her life in honor of God. As the end neared, she was prepared to meet the loved ones who went before her.

Her daughters plan to hold a private memorial at Sea in September of this year.
