Obituary of Robert A. Gerron
Robert “Bob” Arthur Gerron, born April 5th, 1953, unexpectedly passed away May 12th, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Nan; children, Matthew (Jessica), Jamie (Jason); siblings, Richard and Delores; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special little feline guy, Crybaby.
Robert was born in Amherst, Ohio, and moved to Hollywood, Florida as a child. When he wasn’t helping his father with his Carpet company, he was out with his family deep-sea fishing.
Robert graduated from Florida Technical College in 1971 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Robert went on to dedicate 35 years of service to NASA, where he contributed to numerous space exploration endeavors. During his career, he was able to travel the country, contribute to other Space Centers, and share the sights and sounds of the wider world with his family.
Robert sought enjoyment through the happiness of others, whether it was taking friends and family for boat rides and camping trips, sharing clones of his formidable plant collection, or helping others with their technical difficulties and repair projects. Robert found joy and solace in relaxing around the porch, sharing jokes and stories with those he cared about, and starting the occasional chemical fire. He also liked to collect a bunch of crap with the idea of repairing and modifying it all into some sort of futuristic Deus Ex Machina, and he left behind a literal metric ton of plants to take care of, so contributions of well wishes are sufficient.
Robert was not a fan of funerals, nor formalities in general, so per his request, please celebrate his life in your own preferred, private fashion.
