Obituary of James Robert Liatos
James Robert Liatos “Jimmy the Barber” sadly passed away at 66 years old on April 17, 2023.
Jimmy was born in Elmira, NY to Martha Owens Liatos and Robert Liatos on April 2, 1957, one year later Jimmy’s family moved to Florida. Jimmy might not have been Florida born, but he was Florida raised.
Jimmy attended Croton Elementary, Johnson Middle School, and Eau Gallie High School. He went on to receive his GED in the U.S. Navy. He served from 1974-76 on the USS Robert E. Lee.
Jimmy went on to meet the love of his life, Kathleen “Kathy” Casenhiser in 1990. They married one year later on September 28, 1991. Together they raised 4 beautiful children. Their sons Zane (42), Michael (37), and Taylor (29), and their only daughter Jamie (31).
Jimmy led a full Florida life, fishing, boating, and camping whenever possible. Jimmy was not only a fisher of fish, but a fisher of men. As a man of God Jimmy used his skills and talents as a Master Barber to lead countless people to the Lord in his chair at Michaels Barber Styling, which he owned and operated for nearly 30 years.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother his father and his sisters eldest son. Jimmy was survived by his wife, his 4 children, His 5 grandchildren, his 3 great-grandchildren, his siblings Michael Liatos, and Maria Robinson, and their children.
Services will be held on May 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Centerpoint church, in Palm Bay. If you knew Jimmy, you’d know how much he touched the lives of everyone around him. It’s now our turn to give back and help his wife Kathy Liatos and his children as they deal
with the loss of much-loved husband/father. There will be a box at the ceremony for any donations made to help cover the time off taken as the family deals with this great loss.
“He is free and in the arms of Jesus.”
