Obituary of Catherine Jean Gath

Catherine Jean Gath, Age 88, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2023.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 5, 1934, to William and May McClafferty. Catherine was the fourth child in a close-knit family with two older brothers, Richard and William, and one sister, Iva.

Upon completing her schooling, Cathy was employed at the Pittsburgh Field Club in the secretarial pool. During this time, she met her husband, Robert Gath. Bob and Cathy raised two children in Pennsylvania. They retired to Florida and enjoyed many happy years together with friends and family.

Catherine was a kind and generous soul who loved her family, her pet dogs, bingo, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a devout Christian and faithfully attended Saint Sebastian Catholic Church.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Saint Sebastian Church in Sebastian, Florida. Mrs. Gath will rest alongside her late husband, Robert, at the Sebastian Municipal Cemetery.
