Obituary of Laurie Anne Ellison
Laurie Anne Ellison was born in Dayton, Ohio on Oct 28th, 1960, to parents Arthur (“Tony”) Berry Ellison and Anne Scala Ellison. She passed away on February 17th, 2023. Growing up she lived in Dayton Ohio, Melbourne Florida, and Valdosta Georgia, and spent most of her life in Melbourne. She had a lifelong desire to help people. She worked and volunteered as an EMT/paramedic with the Harbor City Ambulance and others for several years, delivered Meals on Wheels to senior citizens in the community for close to twenty years, taught English as a second language, volunteered at her church directing building and grounds, and continued her father’s sponsorship of children in other countries for over forty years.
Laurie completed a master’s degree in English Literature at the University of Central Florida, and shortly after had her two children Amanda Anne Ellison and Michael Arthur Ellison, whom she loved dearly. She homeschooled her children and encouraged their participation in activities such as music, running, and tennis, committing virtually all of her free time to their development.
Laurie loved playing the flute, piano, and guitar. In her other hobbies she enjoyed reading literature, doing crosswords, and being outdoors - at the beach or just doing yard work at her home. She is survived by her two children, and she lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Her memorial service will be held at Ammen Funeral Home on 1001 Hickory Street in Melbourne, Saturday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m. Her final resting place will be at Florida Memorial Gardens.
