Obituary of Janet Doran Thibault

Janet Doran Thibault, aged 77, of Palm Bay, FL, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 19, 2023, after a brief hospitalization at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. She fought her health issues bravely, but ultimately passed in peace, surrounded by her loving family.

Jan was born on November 12, 1945, in Lincoln, NH, to parents Patrick and Rita Doran, the second of four daughters. Growing up in the White Mountains, Jan loved to ski. She worked as a phone operator and saved enough for an AMC Javelin, her prized sports car. Her son Richard came along in 1967, and after she married David Thibault, the family relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL, in 1971.  More children followed: Tracey in 1972, and Michelle in 1974. The Thibaults relocated to the Space Coast in 1977, and ran a recreational vehicle business in Melbourne, FL. Another son, Joseph, came along to complete the household in 1981.

The fortunes of the family business would rise and fall, but Janet was an excellent mother who always made sure the children were provided for. Many family outings were made to Disney World, and the Christmas tree always had more presents than could possibly fit underneath.

The 90's and 2000's would bring many grandkids - Danielle, Mason, David, Valentina, Trinity, Braedon, Nicolas, Jacob, and Brody. She doted on all her grandkids, but had a truly special relationship with David, for whom she was primary caregiver. The attention and devotion she displayed in raising David were truly inspirational, and continued to her final days, even after daughter Tracey's untimely passing in 2022.

Janet is survived by her son Richard Thibault and wife Claudia of Orlando, FL; daughter Michelle Thibault of Clifton Forge, VA; son Master Sergeant Joseph Thibault of Cabot, AR; daughter-in-law Krystal Thibault of Johnston, IA; sister Patty Carter of Haverhill, MA; sister Wendy Cincotta of Palm Bay, FL; sister Alexis Doran and wife Kate of Palm Bay, FL; and all 9 aforementioned grandchildren.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, at 3:00 pm. Viewing will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
