Obituary of Joel Kaningher

Joel Kaningher of Melbourne, Fla. passed away Monday, February 6th, 2023. He was 75. 

He was born April 5th, 1947, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Mitchell Kaningher and Harriet Reichenthal Kaningher. 

Joel attended Bayside High School in Queens, N.Y. He studied chemistry at The City College of New York, then later did graduate and doctoral work in chemical physics at the University of New Hampshire. He worked in the environmental services industry and was an active member of the Colorado Environmental Management Society. 

He had varied interests including Jewish studies, science and physics, computers and technology, chess, baseball, and many others. 

Joel is survived by his partner Susan, past spouses Tobey, Kathryn, and Fran, children Julie, Adam, and Laura, and grandchildren Madison, Levi, and Cora. 

A virtual memorial ceremony will be held later this year.
