Obituary of Kathryn "Kathy" L. Reinholdt

We are sad to announce the passing of Kathryn “Kathy” L. Reinholdt of Melbourne, Florida. She died at age 66 on January 8, 2023.

Kathy was born on June 22, 1956. She married the love of her life, Tim, in 1982. Kathy and Tim went on to have two children, Shawn Reinholdt and Michelle (Josh) Kirkendall. Though Kathy and Tim were both born in Florida, they raised their children in California where Kathy and Tim first met and then in Washington state.

Hard-working and persevering with impeccable organizational skills, Kathy had several different careers over her working life from department store sales clerk, daycare owner, co-owner of a highly successful manufacturing business, and her final position as a real estate agent.

In 2017, Kathy and Tim retired to Florida, and while Tim spent his time working on their two classic cars, Kathy enjoyed cruising every chance she got with her family and friends. She loved playing card games, nature, animals, lakes, streams, mountains, trees, and surfing the web. 

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Reinholdt, and parents, Tom and Faye Hemingway. She is survived by her son, Shawn (fiancé, Lori Imsdahl) Reinholdt; daughter, Michelle (Josh) Kirkendall; grandchildren, Kaylyn and Owen Kirkendall; sisters, Cheryl Holtz and Barbara (significant other, Mark Butler) Hemingway; and nephew, Cameron Taylor Hemingway.

Kathy was a loving, loyal, and cherished mother, grandmother and sister. She often advised us to “never take each other for granted.” She was very loved and will be sorely missed but our wonderful memories of her will stay with us forever.
