Obituary of Robert "Bob" Kelso
Robert "Bob" Kelso, of Melbourne, Fla., passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the age of 82. Bob was born July 20, 1940, in Woodrow, to Dorothy and Clarence Kelso. He was the younger brother of C. David Kelso.
In 1969, he married Betty Ann McCulley. Bob and Betty are survived by their children, Susan Aliberti of Rockledge, Fla., and Brent Kelso of Wake Forest, N.C.; and grandchildren, Steven Couch and Vinny Aliberti of Florida, and David and Brynn Kelso of North Carolina.
Bob was a proud Army veteran. After completing a tour in Germany, he left the Army and started an excavation company in Claysville. He was known for hard work, honesty in dealing with his customers, and mastery of heavy equipment.
He was a volunteer fireman with the Claysville Volunteer Fire Department and loved working his hobby farm, which was well known for its beautiful Christmas displays, all hand-crafted by Bob. The family were members of Claysville United Methodist Church before moving to Florida. Bob's hobbies included gardening, going to Disney and time with his family.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 21, at the Mount Prospect Cemetery, followed by an informal celebration at the Hickory Firehall.
