Obituary of Kenneth Knox Bowman
Kenneth Knox Bowman passed away on October 19, 2022 at the age of 73, in Melbourne, Florida. His battle with medical issues in recent years showed his bravery and determination in facing life challenges with a smile. He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Ken was born to Martha Knox and Howard Bowman in Norfolk, Virginia. He grew up in Atlanta where he played basketball and ran cross country. Ken joined the Army and worked extensively in avionics, encompassing 17 years, including service in Vietnam. He settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado and studied Electrical Engineering at Colorado Technical University. His career included work as a hardware engineer at Northrop Grumman, and reserve policeman in Colorado Springs and Simla.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Faith Bowman; his brother Mike Bowman and his wife Jeanna; his sisters Geraldine Beck and Carolyn Wiles; and his children Tammy Bowman, Kenneth Bowman (deceased), Amanda Carlton and her husband Jason, Evan Walshe and his wife Yaprak Duzgun-Walshe, Jennifer Bowman and her husband Barry Ali, Samuel Bowman and his wife Rachel Keener. Kenneth was enthusiastic about his grandchildren: Misty Bowman-Ali, Madison Bowman- Ali, Camden Carlton, Connor Calton, and Chloe Carlton.
Ken will be remembered for his love of camping in the outdoors of Colorado. He taught his children how to tackle numerous home projects, enjoyed cooking and reading. He made others laugh often and will be dearly missed. Interment of ashes planned for December 2022 in Colorado Springs at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
