Obituary of Samuel P. Gutridge, III

Samuel Pendleton Gutridge III, passed away September 22, 2022 at the age of 69. He was a resident of Melbourne Beach, FL, and formerly of Sebring, FL and Baltimore, MD.

Sam, Sambo, Grandbo or just Bo, was born on October 20, 1952 in Baltimore, MD to Elizabeth and Samuel Pendleton Gutridge, Jr. He attended Loyola High School, Mount Saint Mary's University for undergraduate studies and Loyola University for his MBA. He enjoyed many years of representing water and wastewater equipment manufacturers as a sales representative. As a leader in the field, he was President of Florida Water Environment Associations for years. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was an avid lacrosse player, loyal fan of the Florida State Seminoles and shared his joy of food with friends and family. He will be remembered most for his love of the ocean. Whether fishing, boating or a day on the beach, the ocean was his favorite pastime.

He is survived by his wife Robin Lovelace Gutridge, sister Sue Geare and husband Brian Geare, daughter Meghan McGrath and husband Jason Gardner, and his daughter Margaret Gutridge Block and husband William Chaney Block, his grandchildren Nolan McGrath, Ellie McGrath, Eva Block and Emily Block.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on October 8, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay, FL. The service will be available via live stream by joining the following link: meet.google.com/jqm-pgzj-qoe.
