Jim was a blessing to all who knew him; he lived his life on his terms and made the most of every day. His life was full of many wonderful chapters and I'm honored to call him brother.
Jim lost his fight with Covid just one year after our youngest brother also passed away due to complications from a Covid infection. During times of loss we often look for signs that help us make sense of this loss and provide us with some reassurance that life goes on.
I experienced a sign after the recent loss of my brother. When our mother passed away almost 12 years ago I took home one of the plants she had received at her funeral. Many weeks prior to Jim's illness and death I had repotted our mom's plant and ended up killing it or at least I thought. When I was away visiting my family I told my sister about my plant; she encouraged me to not give up on it just yet. Then when I came home after my trip I looked at the plant on the fireplace mantel and to my surprise new green leaves that had sprouted. I saw this as a comforting sign that our mom was present and that she was with both my brothers, Jim and Jeff, guiding them on their next journey.

James Howard you were born when I was 13yrs old and I was so proud of you because you were my first nephew. You was named after James my brother and Howard after my mother's youngest brother who was killed at 18 yrs old. You were the only one who was named Howard. I love you so much and I will see you soon when we are both with our King Jesus Christ.

I worked with Jim at Omnipoint Colorado springs in the 1990's. Dedicated and outgoing he was a pleasure to work with. My condolences to his family. Rest in Peace Jim.

Uncle Bud, I will forever cherish the memories I have with you. The memories of visiting you during my elementary years in Colorado. I will never forget the day we were snowed on, rained on, got a sunburn, and went swimming all in the same day. How about the North Pole? Garden of the Gods? Ice Skating? Seeing you at Grandmas when you came to Arkansas to visit. I sure miss those days. I will never forget the first time I saw a computer, that was at your house! In 2019 I was thankful to spend some time visiting you in Melbourne. Thank you for always being supportive of your great nieces and nephews. My own kids speak well of you from that visit. You will be missed greatly. Tell Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Jeff, and our sweet son Brandell that we will see them when our journey on this earth is over. Love, Crystal
