Obituary of Judith Elizabeth Samson
Judith E. (Crouss) Samson died peacefully at home in Cocoa, Fla. surrounded by her loved ones on July 9, 2022. Born in Springfield, Mass. on Sept. 9, 1947, Judy spent most of her life living in Belchertown, Mass. with her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 55 years, Michael H. Samson, before moving to Florida to enjoy sunshine, warmth, and life without cold New England winters. Judy’s infectious laugh and love of coffee and a good chat will be missed dearly by her family and friends. A wonderful mother, friend, and neighbor, Judy was incredibly generous and fiercely protective of those she loved most. Her sense of humor, quick wit, stubbornness, and tell-it-like-it-is attitude made her a force to be reckoned with. And her kindness and compassion for those less fortunate found her often, quite literally, giving the jacket off her back. She lived life to the fullest on her terms and loved her family deeply.
Judy is the mother of two children–her son, Michael J. Samson of Three Rivers, Mass; and daughter Carla J. (Samson) Potts of Southampton, Mass. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Caitlin G. Potts; son-in-law, Jason A. Potts; sister, Laurel (Crouss) Ward, of West Springfield; and brothers, Randall Crouss, of Naples, Fla., and Fred Crouss, of Belchertown. She was predeceased by her mother, Doris A. (White) Viggers, with whom she is reunited and missed endlessly since her passing in 1996.
