Dear Mike -
Well, it's the end of the road. I hope they have motorcycles and boats in Heaven. If so, you are all set! Meanwhile, in this mortal world, we will soldier on with our precious memories of you. You were a man who loved his family. I remember you sending birthday cards to everyone, including your daughter-in-law and son-in-law. Of course the grandchildren too! You were a great friend and great coworker. I can honestly say my professional time in Sicily was the best working situation of my career and that was largely due to you. And Paul.
Your time came much too soon, but no one is guaranteed tomorrow. We must live our lives with that in mind.
So many memories.... All these meals in Piano Tavola.... ballroom dancing. Dinners at your house. Coffee with Filippo after lunch at the galley. Motorcycle rides. Oh yeah, there was work in there too but we always got the job done and kept the site running.
So thank you for everything. Sorry you had to suffer at the end. I will pray for your soul, but to a good man no evil can come in this life or the next. I will pray also for Franca and Charlie and Virginia as well as the grandkids. All will be fine I am sure.
Now you may rest. So Rest in Peace my friend. And as they say.... Fair Winds and Following Seas.
