Obituary of Lois M Nunes

Lois M. Nunes, 83 of Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully on May 9, 2022, after a valiant battle with dementia. She was born in Kane, PA on September 30, 1938, to Walter and Chrystal (Stilson) Butters and grew up in Olean, NY along with her brother Jack Butters.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, younger brother Jack Butters, Frank Nunes her second husband, and her daughter Kathleen Hill. Lois is survived by her daughters Maureen (Charlie) Smith, son-in-law Curt Hill, Billie Donahue, and Eleanor (Michael) Kelly. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends. 

Lois lived in the Rochester, NY area for many years and was a Computer Operator at B.O.C.E.S. in Fairport, NY after her retirement she moved to Trenton, KY. She loved to volunteer at the Mission House through Spring Creek Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN before moving to Melbourne, Florida to be close to and cared for by her family. 

An informal gathering will be held at Grove Place Cemetery in Rochester, NY at a later date.
