Obituary of Teresa (Teri) Lavon Curcio

Teresa (Teri) Lavon Germain Curcio passed away quietly April 11th, 2022 from among us into the arms of our LORD, Jesus Christ whom she knew and loved all of her life. She was 71 years young. She was born November 19, 1950, the first of five children of Harry Ernest Germain and Shirley Bohanon Germain of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Small in frame but big of heart (our little big sister) she was a mentor, a comforter, a teacher, and a friend. Always loving and protective of her younger siblings, she was quick with a fierce reprimand and even quicker with encouragement, guidance, reassurance, and praise. She had high expectations of us. She was demanding of herself. She was a perfectionist in the truest sense, leaving everything she encountered a little bit better than it had been before.

She loved to tell a story, and we loved to listen; thoroughly engaged, while she communicated each emotion with marvelous expressions and gestures of her hands; and it was as if we were there when the car broke down, or when the dolphins swam by or when the princess tossed and turned all night on the tower of mattresses because of a tiny green pea. She was always just a short walk, or a drive, or a phone call away, but always there for us. Just knowing that she was there was a comfort. We will miss her every day for the rest of our lives until we see her again in Heaven. Our beautiful little big sister.

Creative and adventurous, she loved to work with her hands. She was a Jill of all trades and a master of many. She was a marvelous homemaker with a wonderful talent for interior design. She painted and sewed, hand-made beautiful rugs. She acquired a love for gardening from her grandpa Alva. She had a thumb so green that we used to joke that she could propagate a chopstick. Her home and her yard were always filled with flourishing greenery, flowering pots, herbs for the kitchen. She was especially gifted and accomplished at cooking; just like mom and grandma Bo. She could put a gourmet spin on the simplest dishes and fearlessly tackle some of the most complicated culinary objectives with absolute coolness; skillful expertise.

She met Anthony; the love of her life, in 1986, married in 1993. They supported and loved each other greatly.

Teri worked in the restaurant industry for several years; a passion shared by her husband, Tony, which led to them eventually opening their own restaurant together in 1990. She was an accomplished professional realtor in Boca Raton Florida, while her husband worked as a professional real estate broker; Team Curcio. They also started and built a limousine business in South Florida. They later sold the business and retired, moving to Central Florida.

She is survived by her loving husband Tony Curcio, of Palm Bay Florida, daughter Alexis and her husband Larry Rich of Surprise, Arizona, 4 grandchildren: Aimee, Dax (Monica), Chaz (McKenzie), Brynly, and grandson Levi, 3 siblings: sister Tamera and husband Rick Weaver of Steinhatchee, Florida, brother Harry Germain Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, and sister Lorie and husband Joshua Funderburk of New Jersey. Several nephews and nieces: Ami, Loni, Mandy, Kasey, Jordan, Justin, Hanna, Haley, Connor, Darrin, Brianna, Kaleigh, Macy, Peyton and Keilani and several cousins.

A funeral service will be held at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, Florida.  on Sunday, April 24, 2022, with visitation at 9:00 AM and funeral service at 10:30 AM
