Lauren and I shared the same tribute to the secrets to a happy life, only I did it more discreetly on Facebook! I love reading these memories so thank you all.
I am so grateful for the times I had with my Grandpa. I owe my love of adventure and spontaneity to him…we were walking the streets of key west 2010 when we stumbled upon Bull & Whistles “Clothing Optional Rooftop Bar”…he said, “you go on without me, that’s a young man’s sport.” He taught me to sail in 2011 of which I intended to utilize my new skills to expand my dating experiences! It only worked once because I married the girl.
We will miss him greatly.

Glenn was such a wonderful man who I'm very glad I got to spend even a little time with. He told me one of my favorite quotes that I've always loved. He will be remembered. The many animal rescues he had and the impact he had on people who knew him. I know his love for life was only matched by the love fur his wife.

Glenn was such an amazing and powerful person. He could light up a room with his presence, wit, and attitude. He was always kind to me and everyone and everything around him. His bond and love with Chris was so special and he lived life to the fullest. He was a fantastic person and will be dearly missed by all. Sending love to Chris and the entire family. XOXO Cynthia

Not sure what to say, so here are some random memories.
When teaching me to drive a manual transmission, in the 76 MG, I hit the car in front on us, dad quickly jumped out and told me to switch sides before the other driver got out of his car. There was no real damage, maybe going 10 mph, but dad talked his way out of it and then we pulled back into the parking lot and started over.
Dad was with me when I first sailed into Cane Garden Bay in Tortola, a wish list item of mine ever since Jimmy Buffett sang about it. Dad then spent the day with me scouring Tortola looking for Cuban cigars. We spent the week sailing around the BVI's and had a great time.
Dad and I also crossed the Gulf Stream, a first for me, sailing from Fisher Island in Miami to Alice town in Bimini. Again, spending time to look for Cuban cigars before getting a beer at End of the World bar and sitting on the deck.
We took several trips to Annapolis Maryland for Safety at Sea, Marine diesel engine repair, and Marine electrical. We would always drive from Charlotte to Annapolis and listen to music from the 40's and 50's and talk about everything you could possibly imagine in those 8 hours drives.

I will never forget all that Grandpa Rhone has taught me over the years and will always remember the great times such as the M.S. 150 bike rides in North Carolina and Boston. As well as all the ranch work. You will always be in my thoughts. Love you and thank you for all that you have done.

It’s hard to say good bye so we will say “See you later”. Grandpa Glenn we will miss you every day. We are so grateful for the time we got with you. From sailing trips, Jamaica trips, Boston adventure & so many fun moments. You have taught us so much about having a happy life, we will cherish your advice & our moments. Rest In Peace, we love you.

Heartfelt condolences to Chris and extended family. I did not see him often enough but every visit with Glenn was rewarding and fulfilling. Glenn was my kind of animal person... not a lot of gray areas with him on animal potection issues. He was in lockstep with sooooo many issues with me. And we both always identified Black Beauty Ranch as one the of our favorite spots on Earth. Safe Spiritual travels Glenn... I look forward to seeing you again when my earthly existence ends. Then we can start telling stories again!
