Jose "Joe" Flores, Jr.
1945 - 2022
Joe Flores went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 14, 2022.
He was born in Miami, FL, on April 5, 1945. Joe met Toni Immormino in 1964. They fell in love quickly and were married for over 57 years. They began a new life in Christ together after seven years of marriage.
Joe was a dedicated husband and took great pleasure in serving God and people. As a youth he enjoyed playing football. Later on, he enjoyed nature, walks with his wife, reading, and ministry.
Loyally serving his country in the Army, Joe was awarded several Vietnam medals, including the Vietnam Service medal with 2 Bronze Stars.
He attended South Florida Bible College and Theological Seminary. Joe earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Christian Counseling, eventually becoming the college President. He was instrumental in helping to establish two Christian schools, and reached out through various church and lay ministries, caring for young and old. He served as a Children's Pastor and was also a Hospice Chaplain. He was a faithful minister of the Gospel of Christ.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife Toni Marie, brother Charlie Flores (Ileane), nieces Monica and Ivis, sister-in-law Bonnie Simpson (Lawrie), nephew Kallan and niece Kylie. He is preceded in death by his father Jose and Julia Mercedes.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel at Calvary Chapel Melbourne, 2955 Minton Road, West Melbourne, FL 32904.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Homeless or Outreach Ministries of Calvary Chapel Melbourne, FL, would be appreciated.
