Dear Mom,
You were a beloved mother, grandmother and mother-in-law to my family. A day will not pass without some reminder of the love you had for us. Christmas was "your" holiday, not for receiving, but for the thoughtful giving you did each year. Thank you for always making time for the little things... whether it be getting up early and making a hot breakfast before my surfing trips or scheduling your visits to Georgia to see my kids in their activities and sports. You were such a hard worker and I value the ethic you instilled in us to keep going. I don't know how you did it in your later years working full time and taking care of Dad and your mother. I know you were given a good foundation with your own upbringing and then you and Dad continued it. I sure wish he had not passed when he did, but your determination along with the support of family and friends gave you the strength when loneliness crept in.
The memories are many, but a more recent favorite one is your love of the Cirque performances you never missed. It was fun having you sit in various seats in the auditorium to get a different view of Jenna and her castmates. Thank you for the love, encouragement and always making us feel welcome on our visits. I'm grateful for the cards and saved voice mails that will carry me on the especially hard days this coming year. May your first Mother's Day in Heaven be as special as you were to me. When Kelly and I moved to Atlanta, you gave us the book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! I can only imagine the places and people you have seen. John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Love,
Bobby
