Growing up I always looked forward to Uncle David coming over to visit. It was always a big event as he would stay several days with us. He would get up early in the morning for coffee and smoke cigarettes outside. He was always cracking corny jokes and made me laugh out loud, what seemed like hours. He reminded me of the penguin on the old Batman TV show, clenching his cigarette filter in his teeth. I have a random memory of going swimming at Kensington, and me clutching to his back in the water because I couldn't swim. I loved visiting David and Monique in Florida, catching lizards and chilling out in the giant wicker chairs on the screened in porch. I always thought his collection of statues from Thailand were fascinating and loved that I knew someone who traveled to such exotic lands. He and my dad had a sort of love/hate relationship, looking at boats together and getting into arguments about cars. Those didn't last forever, and somehow their commitment as brothers would eventually win out. Uncle David was a really special guy to me and I will miss him a lot.

Lots of good memories of Uncle David and his family that will be forever in my mind. He always was up for a good joke while reaching into mental entrepot of original witticisms while grasping his long cigarette holder in his teeth and giving us his well known unique laugh. I remember him teaching me how to catch fish with a throw net off of a bridge in Florida, and then gathering the catch and putting them on the BBQ. I remember chasing down lizards and Horny toads In the family Backyard in El Paso With JJ and Gerard. I remember catching dozens of Fire flies with Audrey in Maryland and him giving me a jar to gather them to try and make a lantern. I remember shooting archery with him in FL and him bragging about how he didn't need an arm guard because his arm was bent from being caught in a clothes ringer and me being slightly envious. I remember my Aunt Monique getting after him after Uncle David would say something a little off color. What is life without these great memories. He will be missed, Bless his family and friends...

I always thought my Uncle David was larger than life growing up. He always had an interesting story to share and many travel experiences to talk about. I had the pleasure to have a few one on one conversations as an adult.I will never forget his insight on politics and world events. He will be missed and I only wished I could have spent more time with him.

I will always remember how grateful and happy I was to see my grandfather. He was just as happy to see us as well and even though we didn't live close or had the chance to spend a lot of time together, we always made the most of the time we had. I really liked that we turned eating hot dogs at Custards Last Stand into a tradition. Every time we visited, he took my brother Eric and me to get some hot dogs and showed us every part of the Melbourne area. These kind of memories will always stay with me, forever. May his soul rest peacefully. With much love to the rest of the family, Marcel White.
