Al and Elise were my next door neighbors when they lived in Sullivan County,NY. You couldn't have had better neighbors then those two. Hard working, caring for others,to know them was to love them. Al was already having health problems when they lived next door. I hated to see them move, and I have missed them very much. I know Al is now with the Lord Jesus and is suffering no more. I still pray for you Elise, to have peace in your heart that only comes from our Lord. Peace and Love to you, Pat B.

Al was my neighbor. He had to be one of the best neighbors I've ever had. He was kind, always wanting to be of some help to everyone. When I broke my hip, he walked my dog, Barney, every single morning, I would tell Barney that "Uncle Al was coming" and he would go crazy. My heart breaks when I think of him as he was a wonderful human being and a gift of a friend. God's blessings to Elise, his loving wife, and Al's entire family.

Always knowing I was adopted, I used to pray as a young boy that one day I would get the chance to meet my biological parents. I spent years searching for them, exploring every avenue I knew possible, but to no avail. One day, about two years ago, I received a call that changed my life. Not only was my biological father found, but he and his wife wanted to meet me as much as much as I had always dreamed of meeting them. They embraced me with the kindest warmest hearts, and through them, I was able to meet my biological half sister and niece. In the short time I got to know Al, I was impressed by his candor, honesty, sense of humor, and connection to family. I thank God for granting me my boyhood/lifetime wish and I know that I am better off for having known Al. I will treasure those memories and I offer my deepest condolences to all who are lucky enough to have known Al Higgins.

Al married my sister Elise when her 3 children were young. He promised to provide for them as his own. He promised to love Elise for all of his days. Al was a good man who kept his word and honored his promises. He was loved and admired by many, and will truly be missed.

What can I say? There are no words that will make you feel better. Al was one of the nicest. Kindest people I ever met. Always there to lend a helping hand. He should have never had to suffer the way he did but he had you right by his side ,Elise. May he rest in peace and I send my love and prayers to you both!

I’ll never forget when you took me for ice cream to help me calm down. That was such a sweet and kind thing. Thank you for being such a kind and caring man.
Rest In Peace.
