Obituary of Claudine Josie Hayes

Claudine Josie Hayes, born September 6, 1927, in Crawley, WV, passed away on February 19, 2022.

Claudine was an amazing, beautiful, God-loving, virtuous woman. Faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, loved by everyone. She always had so many stories to share, and loved sharing them with so much detail and humor.

Claudine loved God, and loved singing His praises throughout her entire life. Even as recent as November she was recorded belting out hymns. She was also in a few Gospel Quartets over the years. One of her favorite things to do was gather together in the living room with her musically talented family and sing songs and play music together. She would also spend hours at the organ playing gospel hymns.

Claudine had various bookkeeping jobs over the years, but her biggest job was raising 4 children. Together with Pat, they raised a close-knit Christian family.

Claudine was preceded in death by her loving husband and companion of 66 years, Pat Hayes, Jr. Claudine is mother to Jerry, Trish (Danny), Scott (Lois), and Steve (Michelle). Grandmother to Tajia (Mark), Cheyenne, Scott Jr. (Sarah), Stephanie, Jennifer (Luke) and Andrea. Her great-grandchildren are Taylor, Gavin, Xander, Devon, Brea, Braydon, Isla and Clara.

Claudine will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery alongside her husband and best friend Pat. Side by side they will sleep, awaiting the final gathering. The reunion of all reunions.

There will be a celebration of life at a later time to be announced.
