Obituary of Joyce (Parkinson) Solomon

Joyce Solomon (Parkinson) passed away on January 28, 2022, in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 93.

Mrs. Solomon was born in 1928, in Trinidad, to  Stanley Arthur Parkinson, Sr. and Mae Parkinson.

Joyce became a naturalized citizen of the United States. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, cake decorating and painting, as well as spending holidays with the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She belonged to numerous clubs including the local Garden Club, Catholic Women's Club, Gourmet Club and Officers' Wives Club.

She set a wonderful example as a mother, which made her children better parents and her daughters stronger women. #TeamJoyce

At 19 years old, she married John, the love of her life. Joyce is reunited with her husband, John, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her 7 children, Brenda Solomon, Richard Solomon, Sandy Elmore, Penny Shafer, Bonnie Rutherford, Debbie Kelly, Jim Solomon, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. 

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Melbourne, Florida.
