Vinny is dearly missed. We were blessed to get to know him and have him as our neighbor. I always enjoyed chatting with him outside and how good spirited he always was. I loved to hear him talk about how he was to young to join the military but he did anyway and the long trip across the ocean to get to England. He was so proud and I was so impressed!
We recently had a baby and he would always ask about how she was doing and he would share stories about when his daughters were young. He was such a proud Dad and grandfather. He told us how his Grandson was getting married and beamed when showing pictures of his family.
It was an honor to know Vinny. He was an amazing man and we miss seeing him. His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.

I miss Vinnie every day, he was such a good friend when my husband Jim passed away, he shared good memories with me of him and Jim. He was an awesome neighbor, checked on everyone, strong and so proud of his age!! I loved hearing about how he and Clare met, he was SO PROUD of his daughters, a great person. Your Dad and Mom are together again and they are both healed. I miss him every day. Sending love to you all.

I’ll never forget, I must have been 6 years old when I met him in England. I’d come home from school, and there was a man there. We were outside, it was a beautiful sunny day. My mother asked me if I knew who he was. I remember being so confused. I said, “He’s my daddy.” But I wasn’t 100% sure because he looked a bit different but I didn’t understand. They laughed, and told me he was my daddy’s brother. I felt so embarrassed, I remember that. But they looked so much alike!
Funny. Sweet memories.
My dad was so happy when Uncle Vin moved to Florida and was a 15 walk away. Good times.
Sigh.

When I see these pictures I see so many family faces in them. I see his grandson James, his nephew Michael and his cousin/nephew, my brother Robert. The Family roots that bind us are deep. In typical Jamaican fashion, for a good part of my early life I had no clue that Vinny was really my cousin but called uncle out of respect and I thought Vinny was short for Vincent, ( Like so many other nicknames in the family). We will miss Uncle Vinny and his wonderful personality and cheerful voice.

Gladys,
For the few years that I have known Mr. Vinny he was a very kind and happy soul. He was a one of a kind man. He was free spirited. Mr. Vinny could tell you about anything pertaining to Jamaica from his days growing up. He could tell you stories for days. He will be missed dearly. I pray that Gods perpetual light continues to shine on him. Rest in Paradise Mr. Vinny. Love you Gladys.
