Jim was an amazing man with a great sense of humor. I think of the conversations we had in our small group at Calvary Chapel. In the midst of a conversation he would say something that made you wonder if he was being serious or humorous. But when he saw your quizzical look he would get a twinkle in his eye and a small grin on his face that was full of warmth. Then you'd know he was being humorous. Most of all, I know he was devoted to God. In everything he did was all for God's glory. He's an inspiration to us all.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16
I met Jim many years ago and was moved by his tremendous knowledge & his spirit. He was one of the few people who truly left a mark. When I have a deep thought about something, whether it's a question on philosophy or religion, I often pose the question "what would Jim think about this?" or "how would Jim react to this?" I feel the world has lost someone special, there is a palpable void, a loss difficult to replace. I know I will meet Jim again and I hope we can resume our conversations on history, philosophy and the shooting sports. My deepest sympathy to his wife Jeanyne, his children Danny, Janet & David and to his sisters and extended family. I have lost a father a second time. I love you Jim, may Jesus smile upon you when he takes you by the hand to meet his father. Until we meet again,
Gabriel
