Obituary of John Alfred McMillin Sr.

John Alfred McMillin Sr., 77, of Melbourne Florida passed away suddenly at his home, October 27, 2021.

John is survived by his wife, Coleen Chaney McMillin, children John Jr McMillin, Susan McMillin McIntee, Brian McMillin, Joyce McMillin Troll, Jason McMillin as well as his two sisters Ruth McConnell and Mary Hull.  He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren.  He is preceded by his father James McMillin, mother Flossie McMillin, and brother Jimmy McMillin. 

John was born May 12, 1944, in East Brady, PA and moved to Melbourne FL at the age of 16.  Shortly thereafter, he found himself working in the National Space Program until the end of the Apollo Missions.  In the late 1970’s, John began working in the auto industry where he owned several Amoco Service Stations and full-service Auto Repair Stations until 2006.  He ended his lifelong love of working on automobiles when he transitioned to semi-retirement job as a bus driver for the Brevard County School system until 2012. 

John’s Celebration of Life will be held at Beacon Baptist Church (3185 Aurora Rd, Melbourne FL 32934) in Melbourne on November 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
