Obituary of Antonia Rudenko Rudniski

Antonia R. Rudinski, 96, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Palm Bay Hospital in Palm Bay, FL. Antonia Rudniski was born on March 13, 1925 in the country of Ukraine. Her parents were Fyodor Rudenko and Valentina Lazarskaya, both from Ukraine.  

Antonia learned to sing during WWII. She was an opera singer and even recorded a record of her talented voice. 

Antonia had 2 sisters, Katia and Zohia. Katia married an American Air Force Major and she helped Antonia to come into the United States. Antonia met Walter F. Rudniski in Detroit, MI at the Russian Orthodox Church in 1954 and later married and had two children, Egor and Boris.  

Antonia loved to cook, bake and dance the traditional Ukranian cultural dances. She volunteered her time to help the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Detroit and also sang in the church choir. Antonia loved to travel with her husband and two children. 

Antonia’s last 7 years of her life was taken by a fall in which her son, Boris and daughter-in-law, Rose Marie, dedicated their life to her final care. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Boris Rudniski and daughter-in-law, Rose Marie; and three grandchildren, Catherine, Khrystina and Boris, Jr. 

A viewing and visitation will take place on Sunday, November 14th at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, Palm Bay, FL from 1-5 P.M., with Father Elia Shaloub from St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church rendering prayers.  

There will be a viewing and visitation at E.J. Mandziuk and Son Funeral Home, 3801 18 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48314 on Wednesday, November 17th from 4-8 P.M. and Thursday, November 18th from 2-8 P.M. 

The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 19th at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, 2101 Livernois Street, Ferndale, MI 48220 with Archpriest Viktor Trotskyy presiding. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Detroit, MI.

Antonia will be remembered for her great kindness for anybody and her beautiful voice that will, sadly, never be heard again.
