Obituary of Gail D. Root (Karschner)

Gail D. Root (Karschner) age 67 of St. Cloud, FL passed away on October 18, 2021 in Melbourne, FL after a year long battle with cancer. Gail was born in Auburn, NY on September 3, 1954 and was a longtime resident of Auburn, NY as well as the Dryden area.

Gail is survived by her husband Charles Root of FL, daughters Ronda Allen of TN, Christina (Daniel) Mohat of FL, Delbert Allen of NY, stepdaughter Krystal Dorn and stepson Andrew Baker-Root both of NY; grandchildren Damien, Brandon, Austin, Daniel, Heather (Brian), Breanne, Hannah, Gracie, and 2 step-grandchildren Kira and Jaxon; 2 great-grandchildren Neveah White and Ashton Little; sister-in-laws Lizzy Daniels (Larry) and Janice Karschner; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Gail is preceded by her parents Guy Otis Karschner, Celia Ett Karschner (David), her late husband James Allen Sr., son James Allen Jr., great-grandson Brandon Little Jr., and all of her siblings (5 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 sister-in-law and 3 brother-in-laws). 

Gail worked many years in the retail industry. Two of her favorite jobs were working for Hills and Ames Dept stores. She loved playing Bingo and doing her scratch off tickets. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; playing cards; as well as having a bonfire while enjoying a few drinks. Her favorite thing to do after moving to Florida was getting to spend as much time with her great-grandbabies as she could. She was always laughing and playing with her great-granddaughter. She will be remembered as Neveah's "Old Lady".

Gail's wishes were to be cremated so there will be no services. We will be having a celebration of life to be held in NY at a later date. Anyone wanting to donate please contact Ronda or Chris.
