Obituary of Janice Marie (Marsinelli) Auger

Janice Marie (Marsinelli) Auger, age 72, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in her home in Barefoot Bay, Florida, after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 20, 1949, in Everett, Massachusetts to William Marsinelli and Elizabeth (Willie) Marsinelli and was one of 18 children. Janice was a graduate of Everett High School Class of “68”.

She is survived by her husband and soulmate of 53 years Edward Auger. She is also survived by her daughters, Kelly Schiazza and her son-in-law Eric and Christine Cornell, and her son-in-law Craig. Her sisters Charlotte, Susan, and Lizzy and brothers Vinnie, John, and Tony along with countless nieces and nephews.

Having spent the majority of her working life attending to the elderly, Janice went back to school in the early 90’s and received her certification as a Registered Nurses Assistant. The highlight of her career was running not only the Benjamin Franklin Governor Prescott House of Epping, NH but also the adjoining Log Cabin House. There she displayed her loving and caring nature by taking care of all of the long-term residents with grace and a sense of humor. She received countless letters from many of the residents and their families thanking her for her selflessness and compassion and for constantly going the extra mile.

Janice was a devoted wife and mother and was considered a second mother to everyone lucky enough to have met her. Her nicknames were “Aunty Em'' and “Aunty Coo Coo” and our house was the go-to house for anyone and everyone. Music was such a large part of Janice’s life especially Motown and R&B. You always knew you’d be up for a good time when you were with Janice especially during the Holidays! Whether you were watching her do “splits” on the dance floor, banging on her Conga Drums, out with her dogs Toby and Buddy metal detecting or in the car never “lost” but on an extended adventure, Janice wholeheartedly embraced life.

She was selfless with her time and would open up her heart and home to anyone in need. She will forever be known as the most giving and loving wife, mother, sibling, auntie, and friend to so many. Janice was happiest when she was taking care of others. Her love for her husband showed through until the very end. She was more concerned with his well-being than her own. She fought so hard because she didn’t want to leave the love of her life and her two best friends, her daughters.

At this current time, there will be no service. We will be planning something beautiful in the future to honor the legacy of Janice’s life.
