Obituary of Donna Mae Smaage

Donna Mae Smaage (Cohoon), 84, of Palm Bay, Florida passed away August 25th 2021. She was born to Edwin H. Cohoon and Beatrice D. Cohoon (Cornellier) of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin July 17th 1937. Donna was the oldest of 7 children. She was preceded in death by her firstborn son Timothy Leon Smaage, her parents Ed and Bea, her brother Eddie Cohoon, and her niece Mindie Cohoon.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years Derrence Smaage, 4 Children; Cheryl Gambill (Don), Kevin Smaage (Dianne), Linda Moffitt (Kyle) and Darin Smaage, 4 sisters; Barbara Howell (Larry), Sharon Anderson (Jim), Sandra Herrick (Phil), Susan Rhodes (Lonnie), brother; Michael Cohoon (Cathy), Sister-in-law Judy Cohoon, 11 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, and 16 nieces and nephews.

Donna graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1955; she was a Chi Hi cheerleader! After high school she attended Minnesota Bible College where she met her husband Derrence. During her lifetime she was active in Christian Ministry at the various churches where her husband ministered in the United States as well as on the Mission field in Africa.

She also worked professionally in various jobs as an Office Manager, Executive Assistant, Coordinator and Director. She retired from Westminster Services, Orlando FL, in 2007 after 20 years of employment.

Donna enjoyed spending time with family, serving at church, going on cruises, gardening, spotting new birds and trying new things.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Saturday October 2nd 2021, 10:30 am.
