Obituary of William Peter Larson
William Peter Larson (Pete) 71, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit in Rockledge, FL after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was at peace surrounded by the family he loved so much. Pete was born in Wolgast, Germany on December 22, 1949 to the late Helga and Harry Iffland. He grew up with Selma and Lars Larson moving frequently with the Air Force. He graduated from Broward High School in Hollywood, FL and Florida Technological University, now UCF. In 1973 he married Susan Guilhaus of Melbourne at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
After a tour of duty in the Air Force, Pete worked in the computer industry as a production control manager, eventually owning a distribution company for computers and peripherals. He set up an operational IT training school with Canadian partners in Accra, Ghana. In later years he worked in construction at various capacities.
He touched many lives with his warmth, friendship, and caring nature. He was proud of his children and the accomplishments they achieved.
Pete is survived by his wife of 48 years Susan Larson, son Daniel Larson (wife Sheila), and daughter Erica Ryan (husband Chris), and sisters Marjorie Butler (Canada) and Barbara Barnett (PA), as well as other family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 28 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 105 W. Hibiscus Blvd. Melbourne, FL 32901.
